There are several reasons why AEV is needed

The Association of External Verifiers was formed in 1999 with government support. Its purpose is to provide professional services for people working in quality assurance in Learning and Development.

Membership is available for those working as external verifiers for awarding or regulator bodies, and for those working as quality assurance professionals within their own organisations.

Membership of the organisation provides inclusive professional indemnity insurance cover for all your QA activities, in these days of rapidly rising premiums and decreasing cover from employers, this is a huge benefit.

The website gives you a chance to share views and best practice through the website pages. Issues of importance to members can be taken forward by AEV and shared with government departments, regulators and awarding bodies.

The development of the AEV has provided the opportunity for the 'verifier community' to develop its own Code of Conduct which has contributed to maintaining and improving standards of practice and reinforce consistency across Awarding Body and subject areas.

Membership subscriptions are currently £60 per year, including professional indemnity insurance. This can be paid by cheque, credit Card or monthly Direct Debit.
